The Microsoft Authenticator App is an app that provides additional security to verify that you are the person trying to access your account. It works in the same way Okta does. However, you will only need to approve the sign in once, rather than every time. When you use your Cambridge Cab email and password to login, it will send a notification to your phone asking to you to authenticate your login.
- Go to office.com and sign in to your Cambridge CAB account
- Microsoft will tell you that more information is required. Select Next.
- Install the latest version of the Authenticator app, based on your phone's operating system:
Google Android. On your Android device, go to Google Play to download and install the Authenticator app.
Apple iOS. On your Apple iOS device, go to the App Store to download and install the Authenticator app.
Once you have downloaded the app, press 'Next. - On your phone, allow notifications. Then press add an account and select "Work or school" before pressing 'Next' on your laptop.
- Use the App to scan the QR code on your screen (Not this one!) then press 'Next' on your laptop.
- Enter the number on your laptop into the app.
- You should then see the notification has been approved. Select 'Next' or 'Done'.
- You're good to go! You will need to approve a sign in using the app when you sign in for the first time after setting up the app and any time you log in again.
