What is File Explorer?

Modified on Fri, 9 Jul, 2021 at 9:55 AM

File explorer is a file browsing system that allows you to see and organise files on your laptop. Traditionally, file explorer is used to access files stored on a local location such as your laptop itself or a local server or hard drive.

File explorer can now be used to see and organize files that are stored remotely or in the cloud like all the documents at Cambridge Citizens Advice. Using File Explorer to view Teams/OneDrive files is completely optional but may feel more familiar if you are used to traditional file storage.
